Abiquiu, NM
This morada, now a private chapel, high on the hill above Abiquiu and overlooking the main highway, is one of the earliest moradas in New Mexico, built as a religious meeting place by members of The Penitente Brotherhood, a group of Catholic laymen. This society of men kept the Catholic faith alive for many years in northern New Mexico, and is still an active religious society in these communities. See — RM —
