Los Alamos, NM ---- This is a variation on the theme of the last few photos. It's also from a museum --- the Los Alamos History Museum --- which celebrates the legacy of this place. Los Alamos, still in the 1940's, was really nothing more than a boys' school. But the Manhattan Project set it on its way to becoming one of the most-noted towns in New Mexico. Here the atomic bomb was invented and very early computers, like this one, were part of the process. It's machinery of a newer era.
