Old Church – Taos Pueblo

Taos, NM
This is all that remains of the original San Geronimo church at the Taos Pueblo. It was build in 1619 and then destroyed in 1680. The cemetery is still used but is off-limits to visitors. Most of the Taos Pueblo Indians practice Roman Catholicism, but also continue ancient religious traditions during feast days.
