Ocracoke/Hatteras (NC) Ferry
Whew ... lots of controversy lately about ferry tolls. Ocracoke is accessible only by 3 ferries. Two (to Cedar Island and Swan Quarter) now cost $15 for a car each way. The Ocracoke/Hatteras ferry is free. A new state law requires fares to increase on the two routes that charge. Local business people are concerned about the impact to them of increases.
