St. Anthony Restoration

Questa, NM
This is what a community can do. The 170 year old San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Questa had its west wall collapse in 2008. The archbishop in Santa Fe said the church should be torn down. The local residents brokered a deal to have six years to restore it. And on they work with volunteer labor and a $500,000 budget from donated funds. I've been inside where all looks stable. Much more work needs to be done, but the enthusiasm is profound. It'll reach conclusion and again become the center of Catholic life in Questa. See article in Albuquerque Journal from 2014 HERE. There are a good many youtubes available too. Check 'em out.
