Chrome. It probably served no functional purpose in old car designs except to make them shiny, and glittery, and exciting. No wonder we boys got hooked on car design back in the 50's. Like “fins,” the era of chrome is long gone. We get a glimpse at antique auto shows or auto graveyards. Or when Google designs a new browser. — GB —
