Calliope

Near Fremont, Ohio
In Greek mythology, Calliope (Greek for beautiful voiced) was the daughter of Zeus and chief of the Muses. These steam or air calliopes were named for her. The fellow in Ohio who owns this old calliope has been offered thousands for it, but refuses to sell. It is just melting away on the side of this old barn. I couldn’t help but envision it restored as a playhouse for my great-nieces and nephews to enjoy. What a treasure! — RM —
