Joshua Tree

Boron, CA
Of course, a Joshua Tree is not a tree at all, but a yucca that is (according to Wikipedia) "tree-like in habit." This photo was made on a lonely back-street in Boron, CA, a dusty town of about 2000 souls, and home to the largest borax mine in the world. There is a museum celebrating the 20 mules teams that became the symbol of Borax. Boron is also one of the locations where the film Erin Brockovich was filmed.
